Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
What is the difference between Botox and a filler?
A filler adds volume. This can accentuate facial contours and/or tighten the skin. Botox relaxes the muscles, preventing them from contracting. Wrinkles, which result from the contraction of those muscles, disappear.
Which brands of botox, fillers and skin boosters do you use?
We work with various botox brands such as Dysport, Azzalure and Meditoxin. We use the filler brands Juvederm, Stylage, Restylane, Perfectha, and Revolax. As for skin boosters, we use Ellanse, Profhilo, and Radiesse.
For more information on ordering specific brands, please contact us.
Where can I see examples of the treatments or get more information?
We have all treatments listed on Instagram. You can find information about the treatments on the treatment page.
What happens during a filler and Botox treatment? See treatment for stepwise procedure
Step-by-step:
How much recovery time do I need after a filler and Botox treatment?
Immediately after the treatment, there may be some redness, swelling, and bruising at the injection sites. This is normal and may last for several hours to several days. You may also experience mild pain or sensitivity at the injection sites.
How long do fillers last?
With hyaluronic acid-based fillers, you can enjoy results for 3 to 12 months or longer.
How long does Botox last?
This varies depending on the treated area, generally 3 to 9 months.
Is a cosmetic procedure possible under the age of 18?
No. The minimum age for a cosmetic procedure is 18 years old. Even with parental consent, minors cannot undergo cosmetic procedures.
Can fillers be dissolved?
Yes. Fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. It is injected into the same area where the filler was originally injected. The results are often immediately visible.
Are there risks associated with cosmetic procedures?
Every cosmetic procedure, including fillers and Botox, carries risks. The risks are as follows:
- For all treatments:Possible risks of injectables include temporary redness at the injection site, swelling, bruising (hematomas), and rarely allergic reactions (urticaria, itchiness, issues with breathing, or dizziness). There is a small risk of infection, which we strive to minimize by working in a clean and sterile environment with the right techniques.
- Specifically for Botox: asymmetry due to a drooping eyelid (in the case of Botox injections). In some cases, some patients may experience headaches after the treatment, but these should disappear within 5 days. Furthermore, a small percentage of people do not respond to Botulinum Toxin due to resistance, resulting in the treatment having (almost) no effect. There is a small chance of flu-like symptoms (fever, muscle aches, fatigue), but these usually disappear within a few days.
- Specifically for fillers or skin boosters: there is a small chance of a complication after a filler treatment. The most severe complication is vascular necrosis, which occurs when a vessel gets injected with filler. The latter is highly unlikely to take place, but if this occurs, immediate medical attention is necessary.
Can I undergo a cosmetic procedure if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
No, unfortunately, this is not possible.
What does the Weight Loss Program consist of?
A comprehensive medical consultation. An exercise and nutrition plan. Measurements (body analysis). Advice for blood tests at the beginning of the program. Monthly medical check-ups and dosage advice (this depends on whether you have individual monthly consultations or follow a program).
Which treatments do you recommend to get rid of belly fat?
This depends on your body composition. If you have excess weight, it’s advisable to lose weight overall. For stubborn belly fat, we recommend lipoinjections.
Are the procedures painful?
Drs. Daans strives to make each treatment as comfortable as possible for you. There is an option to receive numbing cream before a procedure, please note that this may prolong the treatment as the cream takes time to take effect. Please arrive 20-30 minutes earlier than the scheduled time.
Where can I find the aftercare instructions?
Aftercare instructions are sent by email after the treatment. You can also find them on the treatment page of the respective treatment on our website.
